The Traveller’s Inn is a large white pub situated on the A629 and at the crossroads of four different roads hence it’s local name “The Fours” The large white building has been a pub for many years and for the last 5 years has been run by the landlord and landlady Jack and Ruth. The Travellers offers top quality cask ales with rotating casks, an interesting lager selection, ciders, Guinness, and John Smiths along with carefully chosen house wines to suit a variety of tastes.

The kitchen has a dedicated team of people who love cooking and are passionate about offering interesting pub food which caters for many tastes including Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free and even boasts a “Doggie Dinner” for our four-legged friends! We have the most extensive children’s menu which features traditional favourites along with a variety of healthy options. As a rural country pub, we love being part of the farming community and the majority of our meat, sausages, vegetables, and potatoes are sourced right on our doorstep.

The Travellers (formerly known as the Fours) is set in a wonderful rural location and is the perfect destination for walkers, bikers, and families. We have a superb beer garden which enjoys full sun for most of the day and now features 7 trendy and comfortable booths which can be booked. We also have a large play area to keep the youngsters entertained. We love being part of the local community and aim to give a very friendly service and all our staff are trained to welcome customers and look after them.

Booking is advisable and you can call us on 01226-762518 – message us on Facebook and e-mail us (if you do not telephone us, please allow 24 hours for us to confirm your booking).

It feels like every day is a bad night at the Oscars!! But every Oscar night has always started with a multitude of thank you’s!!  To all our customers who have sat outside when its freezing so they feel safe, for the customers who eat when they are not hungry, to the regulars who always come for the food and the many new faces who have come to all our themed food evenings and many other times!! To our staff who have worked so hard during the incredibly busy time as well as adapting to every day with ever changing scenarios – and to the brewery who have done a brilliant job in supporting us despite all the bad press they get!!

So a brief analysis of the year to date – March 2020 all staff were on furlough and bored and quite depressed at home with handouts from the Government all the way – 4th July saw people rushing back to the pub with the beer garden seen as the ultimate safe zone. Many people were delighted to be out again and able to see their friends and family – the older generation valued just coming up and sitting at a table with people rather than being home alone – then in August we had the crazy busy eat out to help out so you couldn’t even get into your regular!!!  – September and October saw a bit of return to normality and our pub saw loads of regular and new faces at our themed nights – November 4th at 10pm total lockdown again with even our plans of a little firework display banned!!

BUT we have a choice as a pub – give up or fight so as some famous actor said – I’ll be back!!!

OUR LATEST REINVENTION IS AS A TAKEAWAY!! – have a look at our menus and hopefully see you soon!!
